Hearings on GujaratThe US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) is holding a hearing on the recent anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat, on June 10 at 9 AM, in the Longworth House Office Building, at the Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
Several people are scheduled to present submissions and testimonies in this hearing including Teesta Setalvad (Communalism Combat, Bombay), and Father Cedric Praksh (Prashant, Ahmedabad) from India.
Among prominent people that have submitted written testimonies there are: Nishrin and Najid Hussain, daughter and son-in-law respectively of late Mr Ehsan Jafri, former member of Indian parliament who was burnt alive in the carnage in Gujarat .
